Lake Grace, Western Australia — October 2025
AFGRI Equipment has officially opened its brand-new Lake Grace Workshop, marking an exciting milestone for the business and the wider regional community it proudly serves.
The event drew over 200 guests — including local farmers, customers, suppliers, and community leaders — who gathered to celebrate the impressive new facility, enjoy local catering from Walkers Hill Winery – Lake Grace, live music from The Bale Out and Golf Simulator from Perth Golf Centre. The evening highlighted AFGRI’s continued investment in regional Western Australia and its long-term commitment to customer service excellence.
Commitment to the Region
Lake Grace Branch Manager Tyson Bell said the new workshop represents both progress and partnership.
“This is an exciting milestone not only for AFGRI, but for the Lake Grace community and the wider region we’re proud to serve,” Bell said.
“It is an opportunity for us to further invest into this community which we call home.”
The new facility includes expanded workshop space, modern tooling, and improved amenities for staff — allowing faster service turnaround and greater capacity to support customers across the Lake Grace region.
“Our new workshop has been designed with our customers in mind — to help keep their operations running smoothly, especially when it matters most,” Bell added. “Today’s opening reflects our ongoing commitment to the agricultural community here in Lake Grace and the surrounding areas. We’re here for the long haul — to grow with you, support you, and keep delivering the service and reliability you expect from AFGRI Equipment.”
Ongoing Investment Across WA
The Lake Grace development follows a year of major investment across AFGRI Equipment’s Western Australian operations, including the expansion of its Perth Parts Distribution Centre.
AFGRI Equipment CEO Wessel Oosthuizen said the Perth expansion, completed earlier this year, was designed to strengthen service capability for all 19 branches across the state.
“Having critical parts in Perth with a robust distribution network means we can get those parts to our customers across WA faster than ever before,” Oosthuizen said. “This investment will significantly reduce downtime for our customers, which is crucial for their productivity, particularly during peak periods like harvest.”
The 10,000-part warehouse now enables overnight delivery to all branches, improving parts availability and minimising delays for customers in regional areas.
“Our investment in regional locations is about growing with our local communities,” Oosthuizen added. “This new Lake Grace workshop — with its expanded space, improved facilities, and modern tooling — gives our team a better working environment to service machinery more efficiently and deliver an even higher level of care and expertise to our customers.”
Honouring the Past, Building the Future
The original Lake Grace dealership traces its roots back to 1972, when local business owner John de Vree secured the Chamberlain John Deere dealership. The larger workshop was later built in 1977–78 and became known as one of the best-equipped rural workshops in the country.
The newly completed AFGRI Lake Grace workshop continues that proud legacy — standing as a major new regional landmark. Measuring 72 metres long, 25 metres wide, and 8.5 metres high, with an additional 8-metre covered lean-to, the impressive facility provides substantial room for large-scale equipment servicing, from small turf machines to high-horsepower tractors and combines.
Built in partnership with local trades and suppliers, including McKenzie Concrete, Madej
Concreting, Tigerspark, Oceanside Plumbing, Trevenen Earthmoving, Outback TV, Epoxy Flooring, Lakes Plumbing, Lay Contracting, McCracken Rigging, WBS, and others, the project represents the power of collaboration within the Lake Grace community.
Bell extended his appreciation to all involved, as well as the Shire of Lake Grace, for their support and partnership throughout the build.
And finally, a big thank you to all of the suppliers that made the Lake Grace Workshop build happen!
