Big Drum Rotary Crop Header
The saw blades of John Deere rotary crop headers cut quickly and thoroughly at a high speed of rotation. As the fast-turning blades cut the full width, crops can be harvested regardless of the row spacing. Thanks to this row-independent harvesting technology, the field can be worked from any side, which is particularly important for down crop.
The fast-turning saw blades allow crops with a lot of weeds to be harvested easily. Besides maize, a wide range of crops such as sorghum, whole crop silage, oilseed, canola, pampas grass, and miscanthus can be harvested.

Intake fingers push every plant into the gatherer drum The design of the Pro series is focused on minimizing crop losses. This is done by the patented design of the claw shaped fingers on the gathering drums. In the harvesting process, the intake fingers push every single plant in a foreseen space in the gatherer drum.
The design securely grasps and retains the plants for feeding them to the feed channel. Holding every single plant is also of enormous importance, especially when driving out of the crop, this minimizes losses.
Benefits:
Better latching and holding of every single plant
One bolt-on divider point Following the 300pro series, the 400pro headers will also be equipped with bolt-on divider points starting from MY2026. They can be easily removed when harvesting down crop. This allows the drums to collect the crop directly.
Big drum header ideal for high yielding crop The John Deere headers with the ‘big’ drums are specially developed for high-yield maize/corn crops with plant heights of over 3.5 m and all row spacing such as 20 inches (50.8 cm), 22 inches (55.9 cm) or 38 inches (96.5 cm). As the header features les divider points between gatherer drums the crop is feeding in without being diverted. Lose hanging cobs, possibly falling down when cut, will land on the surface of the large drums. The low profile design of the gatherer drums easily feed-in down crop. It ensures all plants are gently drawn onto the large feed drums and safely fed into the forager. This reduces blockages and eliminates the need for reversing the header.
Benefits:

Same package as 1125 + extra Heavy Duty blades
The HD blades feature special ‘weld coated’ tips. The weld coating is merged with the steel and therefore even more durable than the already very hard-faced standard tungsten-carbide coated blades. For regions with very abrasive conditions and regular crops with stable stalks.
A heavy-duty wear package is available for eight-, 10-, and 12-row large drum headers. It provides longer lifetime of wear parts and durability that is at least two times the service life of standard parts.
Benefits:
This package is extremely helpful when cutting under abrasive conditions such as sandy soils or when cutting short stubbles.
12 special shaped cleaners per big gatherer drum The new arrangement of the cleaners ensures even more consistent cleaning of the drums and effectively prevents crop material from blocking the feed channel. Thanks to the staggered positioning on every second lowest gather drum teeth, the cleaning effect is improved without disrupting the crop flow. The lowest teeth ring is also better protected against wear. These cleaners are for the Limited Production Build (LPB) 2026 part of the Heavy Duty Kit.
1210 Divider points
1215 No divider point From MY2026 on you have the choice between ‘standard divider points’ (1210) or ‘no divider points’ (1215) between gatherer drums but an angled tube pushing the crop horizontally towards the cutting blades.
1210 The standard divider points work best if the main application is 75 cm (30 inch), 37.5 cm (15 inch) row spacing and broadcast seeding. This option (with points) guides the plant better in between the gatherer drums.
1215 No divider points between gatherer drums works best if the main application is in 20 inch, 22 inch, 38 inch or 40 inch row spacing. No point will be in contact with the crop in case the row is exactly where the point is. This was standard in the US, Canada and Mexico with the 7xx series big drum headers in the past.
Mind that it is not an easy rebuild from no divider point to divider points (see the pictures), as the complete support needs to be changed.

All 300pro and 400pro series headers are equipped with mechanical brakes for the cutting rotors. The system slows down the rotor immediately, especially important when the driver leaves the SPFH cab. This ensures greater safety and control during operation and maintenance.
Non-blinding LEDs provide better visibility in the field during sunset and darkness. Tractor and truck drivers clearly see the widest point of the header. This avoids collisions between header and trucks/trailers during long working days.
