- Clear view, Anti-glare glass coating and thin pillars offer a clear all-round view. The glass also reflects noise, creating a more relaxing and quiet working environment. The suspended seat swivels either side by 16 degrees so you can easily see both ends of the spray boom.

Individual pneumatic units on each wheel are automatically inflated to the correct pressure by the onboard air compressor. Adjustable from the cab, different pressures can be set for working in the field work or travelling on the road.

- One Click and Go, Set up your application in the John Deere Operations Center™ days or weeks in advance. When you get to the field, the job automatically appears on the display. No mistaking to spray the wrong field.
- Seamless Data transfer Field data is real-time stored into the John Deere OperationsCenter. You can analyze your applications and combine with other crop data for powerful insights into your chemical usage and crop performance for long-term planning of field management and crop varieties.
- Superfast tank filling, just set the required volume on the Solution Command panel and the system does the rest. The powerful centrifugal fill pump has a supercharged fill rate of 1200 L/min (317 gpm). It can take as little as five minutes to fill the 5000 L (1320 gal.) tank. You’ll get out to the field faster and turnarounds are quicker too.
- Fast Road Speed, travel between farm and field at speeds of 40 or 50 km/h (25 or 31 mph) depending on country regulations. The Eco-mode also lowers engine speed to 1350 rpm., reducing fuel consumption and engine noise or smoother more economical transfers between fields.
- Up to 20 percent fuel savings with CommandDrive™, All-Wheel Drive (AWD) which uses a hydrostatic pump to power all four variable displacement wheel motors. The system continuously monitors wheel slip, transferring power to the remaining wheels, bringing fuel savings of up to 20 percent.
- Rinsing App once you’ve finished spraying, just press the rinsing icon on the display and SolutionCommand™ in the PowrSpray™ system will do the rest. All you will have to do is to spray out the diluted volume before you leave the field. No wasted chemicals and easier switching between mixes.

Precision spraying technology to deliver best agronomic results For higher yields, accuracy is everything. The combination of PowrSpray™, ExactApply™ and BoomTrac™ Pro 2 are designed to deliver best agronomic results when it comes to crop protection.
- 98 percent application accuracy, PowrSpray is a dual circuit pump system developed exclusively by John Deere that offers many advantages. A key component is the Direct Rate Controller for hydraulically rpm. adjustment of the spray pump, it changes the output from minimum to maximum in less than three seconds to maintain a consistent application rate when the forward speed changes or nozzles are switched.
- Precise nozzle control, ExactApply with pressure recirculation through the spray lines is a big step forward in nozzle control systems. With individual nozzle control it permits much more precise application management, the 15- or 30 Hz Pulse Width Modulation maintaining target rate and droplet size at fixed pressure over a wide speed range, turn compensation reduces overlap and input costs. In addition, nozzles can be switched manually from the cab or automatically with A, B, or A+B configurations and a boost mode increase the flow at predefined nozzle positions.
- Active boom control, Boom Trac Pro 2 actively controls the boom stability, improving accuracy even further. Data from chassis sensors automatically control the suspended centre frame of the boom. This dynamically compensates for yaw on uneven ground before the boom reaches the particular spot in the field.
- Consistent boom height BoomTrac Pro 2 maintains a consistent boom height above the crop, reducing drift and skips. It also makes spraying more relaxing by reducing the number of operations required, so you can spend more time focusing on the rest of your spraying.
The gentle giant
Be gentle for your soil and crops The 500R is gentle on the soil and gentle on your crops. Low ground pressure minimizes soil compaction so you can get into fields when other sprayers are still in the yard.
- Lower soil compaction, The 500R can be equipped with a wide range of tyre options including Group 47. These offer high clearance and are able to handle the heavy load of a large spray tank without increasing the inflation pressure. This reduces ground pressure for better flotation and lower soil compaction.
- Less Crop Damage, The 550R has a ground clearance of 1.2 m (3.9 ft) and wheel motor covers and belly shields provide a smooth surface that deflects the crop as the sprayer passes through the rows, avoiding potential damage from the crop or wheels motors.
- Perfect Balance, The weight is almost equally distributed between the front and rear axles when the boom is fully extended thanks to the front cab and rear engine layout. This provides even ground pressure across all four wheels for lower soil compaction and efficient power transfer to the ground.

Make serviceability easy The 500R is designed for maximum uptime and low maintenance. Easy access for regular maintenance items and advanced on-board diagnostics with remote monitoring tools allow you to constantly check your sprayer’s health.
- Easy Maintenance, to give you more time in the field, serviceability has been significantly improved compared to previous designs, with easy access to replace regular maintenance items like filters. Grease banks also save time on daily tasks and ensure all key mechanical components are kept in perfect condition.
- Remote Diagnostics, Using JDLink™ the 500R is connected to the cellular network allowing remote diagnostics. With your permission your dealer is able to monitor your machine as well as view the G5Plus screen via Remote Display Access. This allows them to provide real-time advice on set-up and troubleshooting.
- Upgradable Design, apart from regular over-the-air software upgrades offering new features, the 500R has a digital backbone with 32-bit architecture. This allows your machine to be upgraded with new technologies as they become available.
