AFGRI Equipment Technician Wins John Deere Australian Agriculture & Turf Service Technician of the Year
AFGRI Equipment is proud to announce that Bradley Skinner, Esperance branch technician, has been named the Australian Agriculture & Turf Service Technician of the Year at the prestigious 2024 John Deere Technician of the Year Awards in Brisbane.
Bradley’s dedication, passion, and commitment to his work were evident throughout his journey with AFGRI’s comprehensive training program. This has equipped him with the skills necessary to provide exceptional customer service. His hard work and personal investment in his career have earned him high regard from both the Esperance team and the customers he serves.
AFGRI Equipment’s Aftermarket General Manager, Brad Forrester, commented, "Bradley’s achievement is a source of immense pride for us. He has consistently demonstrated excellence in his role, and we are excited to see him represent AFGRI and John Deere as the Australian Technician of the Year over the next 12 months."
Bradley has been with AFGRI Equipment since starting his apprenticeship in 2017. Over the past seven years, he has developed strong, long-lasting relationships with his customers, particularly among broadacre farmers in the Esperance region. For Bradley, the most fulfilling part of his job is leaving a farm at the end of the day knowing the equipment is up and running, allowing farmers to continue their work without interruption.
Reflecting on his award, Bradley said, “It’s an honour to receive this recognition, especially given the calibre of the other technicians. I’m proud to represent AFGRI Equipment and the farming community in Esperance.”
Throughout his career, Bradley has witnessed significant advancements in technology, which not only keep his role exciting but also motivate him to continuously expand and sharpen his skills.

The John Deere Technician of the Year Awards, established in 2021, recognise the crucial role that technicians play in supporting John Deere's customers across Australia's agriculture, construction, and forestry industries. This year, the awards program saw over 130 nominees from 69 dealership locations, showcasing its growing influence in Australia and New Zealand. The Australian finalists travelled to Brisbane in early September, where they were tested on their diagnostic skills and ability to solve technical issues in real-time scenarios.
