Geraldton wins Branch OTY at AFGRI’s night of nights

AFGRI Equipment had the great pleasure of hosting our staff at the 2021 AFGRI Awards Night last month. Held on July 31, the annual event is an opportunity to celebrate our top achievers and thank our employees on their exceptional effort over the past 12 months. The awards night was held at Crown Perth with around 170 guests attending. AFGRI marketing and small ag manager Jacques Coetzee, who was also the MC for the evening, said it was an honour to host our employees. “The awards night is an evening we get to celebrate all the hard work our team have put in over the past 12 months,” Jacques said. “This year’s theme was to highlight it’s not the bricks-and-mortar that make our company, it’s the people inside.” In support of this, the night featured a range of videos put together by staff showing life at the branch as well as individual interviews from influential personnel in parts, service, sales and management. The night’s most coveted award, Branch of the Year was awarded to AFGRI Geraldton, for a record third time. AFGRI Geraldton branch manager Graeme Henderson, who collected the award on behalf of the branch, said the award was a fantastic achievement. “We are honoured to win this award again this year – it’s the unwavering effort from the team across the board that makes it all possible,” Graeme said. “We take a lot of pride in making sure we can offer a great experience and high level of service to our customers. “This award is a true testament to the team’s hard work as well as a great recognition of the support we receive from our customers.” Large Ag Salesperson of the Year was awarded to AFGRI Geraldton’s Adam van Aswegen whilst Used Equipment Salesperson of the Year went to AFGRI Esperance’s Diarmuid Lombard. Mid Ag Salesperson of the Year, a new award this year which includes tractors from 100 to 180 horsepower as well as hay equipment, was awarded to AFGRI Albany’s Jake Ollis. Small Ag Salesperson of the Year was awarded to AFGRI Perth’s Ellie Vance. In service, Workshop of the Year was awarded to AFGRI Carnamah, collected by Service Manager Christian van Zyl whilst Service Technician of the Year was won by AFGRI Narrogin’s Morne van Tonder. In Parts, Parts Department of the Year went to AFGRI Boyup Brook, collected by parts manager Jeremy Mader while Parts Sales Representative of the Year went to AFGRI’s Michael Aggett, for his time at AFGRI Carnamah. Michael has since moved south in his new role as parts manager at AFGRI Narrogin. Another new award for
the evening was the AFGRI Recognition Award, awarded to AFGRI marketing coordinator Timothy Roberts. The award is to highlight an individual for their efforts and valued contribution to the company. AFGRI operations director Gollie Coetzee said the awards night was an important night on the calendar and imperative to promoting company culture. “I would like to thank all our staff for another exceptional 12 months,” Gollie said. “It is their hard work and dedication that allows us to keep growing and moving forward. “AFGRI is our staff and it was an absolute pleasure to have the awards night again this year to recognise their contributions to the company.” AFGRI Equipment would like to congratulate all the night’s winners and thank all who attend the evening. We look forward to hosting the event again in 2022.
