John Deere 8 Series tractors receive update

John Deere’s new 8 Series tractors have received an update that builds on the strong foundation of existing technology by providing new specialised options. The lineup of wheel 8R, two-track 8RT and four-track 8RX, ranges from 230 to 410 horsepower with multiple transmission and engine options available. Each also comes with industry-leading comfort, visibility and technology packages. A new feature of 8R tractors is the Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS). The CTIS saves time when adjusting the pressure required for field and transport operations by changing tyre pressure when ‘road’ or ‘field’ settings are engaged on machines equipped with Independent-Link Suspension (ILSTM). For road transport, increased pressure gives greater fuel efficiency, reduced tyre wear and improved ride and handling; while in field, lower pressure and a larger footprint provides more lug engagement to reduce slip and ground pressure. Additional on 8RX tractors, the new integrated 3750 litre capacity ExactRateTM Tractor Tanks provide additional liquid capacity for tasks such as liquid fertiliser application with seeding, enabling more time in the field and greater productivity by reducing the number of fills required. All 8 Series tractors come standard with a JDLinkTM connection, integrated StarFireTM GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenterTM display, AutoTracTM guidance and free access to the John Deere Operations Center. The new 8 Series tractors will be available to order from mid-2021. For more information, contact your local AFGRI Equipment branch today.
