Craig has built his career across some of the world’s most respected golfing regions from New Zealand, Ireland and Australia, and now evolved with a strong background in warm-season turf management suited to Western Australia’s coastal conditions.
After more than a decade working in Perth, including 10 years managing a municipal course, Craig joined Sun City Country Club in 2021. The 18-hole, member-owned course in Yanchep—set between Yanchep National Park and the Indian Ocean—is currently undergoing redevelopment, featuring a mix of Santa Ana couch and kikuyu, over 40 bunkers, and distinctive barrancas.

AFGRI Equipment's commitment to Sun City Country Club.
A key priority since Craig’s arrival has been the modernisation of the club’s machinery fleet—an area where a strong local partnership has played a central role.
AFGRI Equipment is proud to partner with Sun City Country Club as its local John Deere dealer, supporting its ongoing machinery renewal and helping ensure access to the latest technology as the club continues to expand and modernise its fleet.
Today, Sun City operates a fleet of 12 John Deere machines, including hybrid triplex and fairway mowers, a Z915E ZTrak™ Zero-Turn Mower, and a ProGator™ 2030A GPS Precision Sprayer.
AFGRI Equipment State Manager – Golf & Turf Jack Latchfords hands-on approach and understanding of course requirements have supported smoother operations, improved efficiency, and greater confidence in equipment performance as the club continues its renewal program.

Craig said John Deere's 6700A E-Cut™ Hybrid Fairway Mowers are lighter on the fairways, and helping the club to save money on fuel.
Fleet Performance Optimised with John Deere Operations Center™ PRO Golf Software.
The introduction of hybrid equipment has reduced fuel consumption while maintaining a high-quality finish, and the GPS Precision Sprayer has improved application accuracy—minimising chemical use and reducing overlap.
Operational flexibility has also improved, with equipment such as the zero-turn mower providing versatility across a range of tasks, from mowing to leaf management around key playing surfaces.
Supporting these advancements is the integration of John Deere’s Operations Center™ PRO Golf software. Having adopted OnLink in its early stages, Sun City has continued to embrace the platform’s evolution, using it to plan workloads, monitor machine usage, and track performance across the course.
The system now provides real-time visibility of on-course activity, allowing for smarter decision-making, improved resource allocation, and proactive maintenance scheduling.
Together, the combination of global experience, modern equipment, and a strong working relationship with AFGRI Equipment is helping position Sun City Country Club for the future—delivering improved efficiencies for the maintenance team and an enhanced playing experience for members.
